"Discipline" Solo Show 2023

This was a time in my life when I had a different process for creating the Intertwined pieces. Instead of working in the studio, I took the process outdoors. It was partly due to being inside too much and partly a desire to expand the possibilities of what the work could become.

No material was discarded. I cut, collaged, stapled, and glued. I built a sculpture that could capture the light of the world, all the micro, subtle shifts and tones.

It also felt more conceptual this way. It became a moment of testing my comfort in the world, carrying this sculptural collage of myself into obscure places around town.
